Very Good job ! I am also thinking to build one such belt driven turntable .Presently I am playing a self assembled turntable which runs by pully and so motor rumble sound comes .
It's a ferisdie loop $5
Great job. Love the 1.0 more, your own root design.
Thank you. It's been awhile since building one. I think it's time to build another. Cheers
Great creative job.
They are only worth what someone is willing to pay. Anything else is speculation.
Is there a way to reduce the wobble on the pallet? Got a vynal player and the vynal makes waves, and the needle ends up skipping (the vynal are completely flat with no damage)
Hi do you have the designs any where so other can try
Only in my head. I wouldn't want someone to copy my design.
you succeeded. you completely destroyed it. Go to the wheelie bin, or drive over it with your car! 😄
I use one of those small foam paint brushes to clean out the inside of the tub of my humminguru. Catches any hair or dust. Then just rinse out the brush and let it dry. And I definitely pre-wash any used records I buy with my spin clean or my record doctor vacuum. New records I just hit the automatic twice and I’ve had no issues at all. Good luck.
Wow. I never thought of that. Now that's going to be how I clean too. I actually have one in my basement to try. Thanks 😊
What is the modelnumber of the motor you are using?
Don't think I landed a single shot 🤣 fun times
It is the same factory for both models
Excellent video! Thanks for sharing. My humminguru is arriving today and I'm excited to get to work cleaning some of my older albums. You've earned a subscriber!
🍻 cheers
If you have a VG copy of LZ ll RL edition, I'll give you $2 for it 🤣
Go forth and look for an older Crosley product called a Keepsake. It is basically a portable, like this, but they had some significant upgrades. A full sized platter (semi-auto, no less!), for one - and a longer tone arm with a magnetic cartridge (some of the later keepsakes cheaped out a bit by going to the smaller platter and ceramic cartridge). It also came in a larger case with somewhat better speakers. If you're gonna mod something, start with something that has more potential than the most basic model, lol. Better speakers make a world of difference with the tiny amps they use in these things.
Thanks for watching. Maybe someday I'll try.
I think it's great what you did
I have Gram BSR, ceramic cartridge without amplifier, I connect it to the amplifier with a plug. My device does not have an internal amplifier, 4 wires go from the cartridge to the amplifier to the phono, it has a normal sound.
I have a Music Hall MMF 2.3 SE table and absolutely love it! It's very similar to a Pro-Ject.
Where Can i purchase motor wheels and bearing. In other words the parts that are very difficult to calculate and make for hitting correct 33 rpm. Kindkys michael
I'll allow others to answer this one because my go to places are no longer and I'm looking for a new supplier myself for my next build.
Don’t buy the ultrasonic that he’s representing. I’ve had one son clean 100 records. It took many many minutes to get them dry in the machine and it doesn’t flush the fluid from the record surface. Bad idea need a freshwater tank. Doesn’t have that 80% of the LPs plays the 20% you have to change the wheels. It’s a pain in the ass you get what you get for $400 for $250. You can get an ultrasonic that’ll do four records at a 304 stainless steel cavity five year warranty on the ultrasonic machine itself And does a great job and then I put in a freshwater distilled and then I put it on my back and that dries it perfectly and sucks everything out and the album is 100% perfect stop trying to save money just that works and there’s a competition to them. That’s $10 less that’s identical, anyhow remember it’s life and death. It’s a hobby again and you can spend thousands and thousands of dollars on this hobby and I was able to inform you of some facts. These are all actual about 2500 LP starting back in the early 60s when I was involved in rock ‘n’ roll business, good luck
The best review on this thing I’ve seen. Definitely needs more views. Still debating the humminguru. 549 usd on Amazon before tax with the attachments. Hmmm.
Thank you for liking my video. Cheers
What DSP do you use to filter out the clicks and pops on your vinyl?
The tonearm on the musichall from the 90íns (Pro-ject 1.2) is much better than the one on the Pro-ject Debut. That makes a big different. Ive heard it all. I would go for the 2.2.
Do you want to know how i made many year ago my own DIY turntable ..The shaft was a brand new chevrolet or so engine valve i bought also a valve guide to rotate the platter that was attached or welded to the valve .. Now the platter was also another great idea ..Staying always with car parts i discovered this brake rotor at some Goodwill .Dont ask from what car !.It was brand new or remanufactered .. It had the right size and it was heavy and perfect!
Great idea. I can see a rotor working. Nice weight and balanced
i also use bamboo to make amplifier boxes ..It comes from China as is pretty cheap and looks great
What company do you order your wood from.
@@goldenvinylspin No no i buy bamboo kitchen cutting boards for $4 each ..They are big and look great .I find them at my local dollar store ..No kidding .I nee only 3 to make a cabinet ..No need to close the back ..
Both of these are older discontinued models my self I prefer the mmf2.3 that replaced the 2.2
Is the seperation of the arm ground plate from the table carrier an advantage for some reason?
magnifique ! travail exceptionnel et quel design ! ❤❤❤
your video sucks just use water and micro fiber towel done to much shhhhin your video liar
This has been the most DIRECT, PRACTICAL, HONEST, SINCERE, TRUSTFUL, and CLEAR review I have seen about this HumminGuru cleaner... and I've been watching hundreds of them in the last 3 days.
Wow!!! Thank you. It's always nice reading comments like yours. 👍
I would pay big bucks to have Lea Michele’s louder on Vinyl Record
Around the time the mmf-2.2 was released, the differences between it and that generation's Debut III were more than just cosmetic. With a few minor differences, it was more or less the same thing. The major difference was how the bearings in the mmf's tonearm was set up.
I have one.... I use it for cleaning, using Tergikleen, and rinse using my VPI RCM with distilled water.
I like the Journey T dude Kelly design? Love his work!
0.34 wow/flutter? Thats very bad....
Is it? Guess it depends on if you can hear the difference?
@@goldenvinylspin everything above 0.2 is audible to me especially with piano notes or guitar strings A decent turntable must have at least 0.1 and below... Every entry level turntable I have from the 80's has below 0.1 wow/flutter and that should be the modern standards...
Hello sir My Name is Onkar Singh from India (Punjab) l have vintage Poneer PL 25 and Sharp music center but both turntable's motor heating after play 1 hour why please tell me
Would be so cool to visit your store. mr. Finglish (Bäd English Recs)
Awesome video Mark, and yes a controversial subject for sure. Personally I love it when I see "play graded" and its by a person who knows what theyre at with good equipment. By virtue of the goldmine grading description, a vg+ album with light scuffs and scratches that are not audible are acceptable. If not play graded, tough to give any grading for me. I myself have picked uo a few minty shiny albums, that when played are shite, with groove damage and surface noise. On another note, there are many types of collectors, me i like clean pressings, quiet and little to no surface noise. My daughter just likes spinning. She says the cracks and pops add to the character lol, as long as it doesn't skip she loves it! Lots of differing opinions on this, but i definitely agree Goldmine standard is pretty easy to interpret and follow and a fantastic tool to standardize grading. I wonder if we'll ever see a grading system such as psa for sports cards, where an independent source grades and standardizes? A little more difficult with records where, basically you intend to play the record and by virtue of playing the record could change the condition, psa cards are sealed after grading.
I bought an album of a v bay and the seller listed it as near mint...NM . When I got it, it had a couple scratches and some stuffed marks on it. Very very far from near mint. When I text the he told me. I did not know how to grade an album. That near mint was just an expression, that record collectors us.
Wow!!! That's a new one to me 😆
I don't like anything in my collection unless it's a VG + or above.
I like your style. I won’t have anything in my collection less than VG+. The exceptions are original TSOL records that are autographed, but I have extra copies to play. Wish you the best in your business. Take care!
I never buy an "autographed" lp that I haven`t witnessed being autographed. Too many shysters out there.
Where did you source the motor from?
Hurst nidec motor corporation
@goldenvinylspin thank you very much for the information. I have a mill and a lathe and can make everything except the motor and cartridge. The cartridges are quite easy to find, but nobody really advertises for turntable motors. Anytime I went looking for one, all I would end up finding was motors for microwave oven turntables. Thanks again.
That's just the start my friend though. You need to put Resistors on the motor or you'll have a record flying off your table. Good luck on you build. I'll share more information in a future video so that everyone has this knowledge because I get asked alot.
@@goldenvinylspin I can also fine tune the turntable speed by cutting down the drive pulley on the lathe.
unfortunately some records will skip regardless and even though they won’t damage it immediately it’s not a fun listen when music skips.
Agree
Fun that they have done vinyl for Ace of Base. I liked some songs back then, and still do. :) I didn't notice that you have been active again... mr. Finglish (Bäd English Recs)

Love these vids Mark! Kingston really was a great place to be posted. As an armored guy I was able to hide there for ten years. Nova Scotia called me after retiring, like many others.
Thank you. Kingston I guess was like the Prime time for me. Loved living there everyday. Love to go back a visit again. But like you, I'm in NS now
Really liked the first Coney Hatch record. Went a little towards the pop side in the rest of the records they put out. The Allman Betts band is sons of three Allman brothers band members. Had the chance to see them live. They only have 2 albums out. But Devon Allman and Duane Betts both have out solo albums. They sound a lot like the Allman Brothers. Don’t know your feelings on country rock, but check out Blackberry Smoke. Been vibing out with them for about a decade. They have the southern rock sound also. 🤘🏻🎸🎶
I love southern rock. I heard of Blackberry smoke. I think 🤔 they put out a RSD album a few years ago. Thanks for sharing. I'll check them out 👍
I like bot eras of Fleetwood Mac!
Also a Bonnie Raitt fan looked for her first lp for years finally got it on an auction from Tony Sloggit and it happened to be sealed - still haven’t had the heart to open it
I love her. She doesn't get mentioned to often.
Another banger! Those Fleetwood Mac set had me drooling.
Cheers
I was just talking about keeping albums sealed, for whatever reason. Sometimes I forget about and it gets put away without opening. Great video
Thank you my friend. Glad you liked it. I think many can relate I think.
